Tutorial – Data Consistency

Catalog quality-control dashboard: detect issues and fix them with bulk actions from a single place.

The Data Consistency module scans all store products and groups them by issue type. Each group shows a counter and offers specific actions to fix it without exporting any file.

First step: Click the "Analyse Products" button to start the scan. Results appear in the issue cards once the analysis is complete.
1) Summary panel

After the analysis, eight issue cards appear. Each one shows the number of affected products and a "View & Manage" button that expands the detailed table.

CardWhat it detects
No imageProducts without a main image
Duplicate SKUsGroups of products sharing the same SKU
No title or descriptionProducts with empty title or description
No stockProducts with total inventory equal to 0
No product typeEmpty product_type field
No Shopify categoryNo Shopify taxonomy/product category assigned
InactiveProducts in draft or archived status (not active)
UnpublishedActive products with empty published_at
No image

Products with no image assigned in Shopify.

Available actions
  • Select all or a subset
  • Export a CSV list to add images externally
  • Re-import the corrected file via the Import module
  • Delete selected products

Tip: products without images hurt conversion rates and are usually rejected by Google Shopping.

Duplicate SKUs

Shows groups of products sharing the same SKU. Each group displays the shared SKU and the involved products.

Available actions
  • "Keep" selector: choose whether to keep the oldest (First) or the most recent (Last) product in each group.
  • "Delete duplicates" button: automatically deletes the non-kept products across all groups.
Recommendation: Duplicate SKUs cause conflicts in future imports and in external inventory management systems.
No title or description

Products with an empty Title or Description field.

Available actions
  • Inline editing: modify title and description directly in the table and save with the "Save" button.
  • Export to CSV for bulk editing externally, then re-import.
  • Delete selected products.

Tip: completing title and description improves SEO and the customer experience.

No stock

Products with total inventory equal to 0 across all warehouses and variants.

Available actions
  • Inline editing: adjust the stock value directly in the table and save with the "Save" button.
  • Export to CSV for external bulk update.
  • Delete selected products.
No product type

Products with an empty product_type field.

Available actions
  • Select all or a subset
  • Export to CSV for bulk type assignment, then re-import
  • Delete selected products

The product type enables Maintenance filters, automations, and catalog organisation.

No Shopify category

Products without the official Shopify taxonomy category (different from the product type field).

Available actions
  • Select all or a subset
  • Export to CSV and re-import with the category assigned
  • Delete selected products
Important: The Shopify category is required for Google Shopping and affects smart collection navigation.
Inactive

Products in draft or archived status – they are not active and not visible in the store.

Available actions
  • Select all or a subset
  • "Activate" button: changes all selected products to Active status in bulk.
  • Export to CSV
  • Delete selected products
Unpublished

Active products whose published_at field is empty, meaning they are not available on any sales channel.

Available actions
  • Select all or a subset
  • "Publish" button: sets the publication date on all channels configured in the store.
  • Export to CSV
  • Delete selected products
Typical workflow
  1. Open "Data Consistency" from the Dashboard
  2. Click "Analyse Products" and wait for the scan to finish
  3. Review cards with issue count > 0
  4. Click "View & Manage" on the block you want to fix
  5. Select affected products (individually or all)
  6. Apply the action: Activate / Publish, Save changes, Export, or Delete
  7. Watch the global progress bar until the operation completes
  8. Return to the summary panel and repeat for the next block
Remember: Deletions are permanent. Always export the list before deleting if you need to recover data.
